In early April the current Board of Directors of Urban ArtWorks made an offer to one of the original founders, Mike Peringer, to assume management of the organization by electing him and two others as new directors, at which time the present board would resign.

Mike has accepted this offer and is confident that his new board will be able to make the organization sustainable now and in the future. The transition to new management is scheduled to occur at the board meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

May 6, 2009 will also be the last day for our current Executive Director, Terry Pottmeyer.

Terry joined the ArtWorks team in 2007 and has worked tirelessly to increase opportunities for at risk and volunteer youth through our public art programming. During her tenure we completed our most successful year to date, serving 150 kids and completing 11 mural projects in 2008. Terry started our new Saturday morning girls program and, with the support of the Lucky 7 Foundation, our new intern program. We appreciate her hard work in support of the youth we serve.

We wish the new board every success as they assume management of the organization.
